Thursday
5th February
RUAS Conference Centre, The King's Hall, BELFAST Sex,
Leadership and RocknRoll Adapting
to turbulent times
The
first breakfast will take place on Thursday 5th February when the
guest speaker will be Peter Cook who will engage, educate and entertain
you with a heady mixture of World Class business thinking, tamed
through the medium of rock music where our gurus are Madonna,
Meatloaf, Morrissey, Morrison, Morrisette and so on. He will speak
on a range of topics that affect most of us at the moment:
Peter
Cook is a business academic with three books to his name.
His early life was spent leading teams of scientists to
develop life-saving drugs and travelling the world fixing
factories. He has worked with a number of rock and punk
rock bands over the years and believes you learn just as
many lessons about business and life from a live music performance
as you can from a textbook!
Breakfast
is available from 7.15am and the "gig" starts
at 7.45am - spaces are limited and this is bound to be a
popular event so book now!
Adaptation and creativity in turbulent times in other
words, turning ideas into profit
Gaining and keeping customers in turbulent times maintaining
your edge
What can we learn from the parallel universes of the business
school and music about all this?
Expect
some powerful ideas to set you thinking differently about
these topics, punctuated with a number of musical illustrations
which may involve volunteers in the audience. Peter
is author of Sex, Leadership and RocknRoll
acclaimed by Tom Peters, author of In search
of excellence and Thriving on Chaos.
Bring
an instrument if you wish to join in with the spontaneous
combustion session that may occur!
