"Some businesses survive and thrive in spite of themselves and have never developed any strategy whatsoever for future developement.

This is fine.....but sooner or later, the day will come when such uncontrolled growth will come to an end....

If you don't have a development strategy, then you might well be in trouble"

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

The aim of this workshop is to provide you with a business development strategy framework. Implementing a business development strategy can help your business become more successful. The first step in this process is to conduct an analysis of your business. This will involve reviewing both the internal aspects of your business, and the external business environment. There are a number of tools and techniques available to help conduct a business analysis. The workshop focuses on the use of two of these methods: a SWOT analysis and a product analysis. The outcome of the business review should be a number of key development areas, which will form the basis of development strategies and tactics. These, in turn, are implemented by the development of an action plan. Finally, the workshop explores how you can monitor and control a business development strategy.

The specific topics covered in this module are:

  • Overview of a Business Development Strategy
  • Business Review
  • SWOT Analysis
  • Product Analysis
  • Key Development Areas
  • Action Planning
  • Monitoring & Control
