The classroom may not have been the most positive experience ever....so in the is programme, we recognise that this might have been the case. We also acknowledge that people also learn differently and there may be some participants who prefer to study in their own time. They may prefer to follow up each session with their own personal programme and the resources available from the website will facilitate this process.

With any learning situation self-discipline is vital for the learner to be successful. The self-discipline required is to set a study plan allocating times for study. Remember to fail to plan is to plan to fail. The Planing process involves:-

  • Identifying the end goal, as a participant in the develop a Business Programme, what do you want to achieve.

  • What steps or stages to achieve the learning goal.

  • Approximate time it will take to go through each stage. It is very important in terms of scheduling time for learning.

  • Set yourself targets. Learning targets defines what should be learned, in what time period. Measuring the outcome can take the form
of an assessment, exercise or other means.

  • To optimise on-line learning time, it is recommended
that the learning be approached in time blocks,
maximum one hour at a time.
